Meet our innovation: VISION LASER

VISION LASER

Basic Data

Our latest laser processing machine VISION LASER offers innovative laser technology for a wide range of applications for brazed tools in modern tool production. The design of the machine is based on WALTER's HELITRONIC VISION, which has been proven and reliable for decades, and the laser technology used offers industry-proven reliability for precise and efficient tool production.

With this machine, tool surfaces of the highest quality can be achieved that meet the highest demands.

Machinable materials are

  • PCD (polycrystalline diamond)
  • CVD (chemically deposited diamond)
  • MKD (monocrystalline diamond)
  • carbide

Areas of application are:

  • End mills / ball nose end mills
  • Step tools
  • Woodworking tools
  • Further tool types are currently being integrated

The machine achieves impressive cutting speeds of over 1.6 mm/min with a material thickness of 1.6 mm. Thanks to the precise laser technology, the cutting edges of PCD tools are free of chipping and cracks. The machine enables the processing of chip breakers in any 3D geometry, which significantly increases flexibility and application diversity.

The software used is GTR ProfDia Laser as a classic application which, apart from the technological data sets, is identical to GTR ProfDia Erosion, which has been widely used in wire EDM for decades and thus offers GTR-experienced users an easy start in operating the new laser machine.

The operating system used is C.O.R.E., currently the most modern machine operating system on the market, which has been standard on all UNITED GRINDING Group machines for several years. All system applications such as calibration, warm-up, etc. are therefore also 100% pure C.O.R.E. applications.

As no consumables such as coolant or wire are required for laser processing and the machine is characterized by low energy consumption, operating costs are reduced, and the environment is protected.
