Walter Helicheck Basic 3

Walter Helicheck Basic 3

For standard tolerances & tool sizes

The Walter Helicheck Basic 3 (formally called the Helicheck Basic) is a 4-axis machine with a 3D Directview system, featuring three fixed CCD cameras for higher stability and accuracy, especially on small details.  Repeatablility ≤1.5 microns (0.000,06”), optionally ≤1 micron (0.000,04”).  Suitable for standard tolerance tools and wheels.  Inspects tools up to about 12.6” in diameter and 16.5” long (320 mm x 420 mm).

Benefits:

  • Setup offline on PC & network with Helitronic tool grinders
    • Machines stay productive
    • REDUCE SETUP TIME ON THE GRINDER UP TO 50%
  • Fully automatic, non-contact inspection
  • Faster than manual methods
  • Repeatability of ≤1.5 micron (0.000060 in.), optionally ≤1 micron (0.000,04”).
  • Accuracy of ±2.2 microns (0.00009 in.) + L/300 using NIST certified gage.  Optional camera offers E1 = ±1.4 microns (0.00006 in.) + L/300
    • Granite block for thermal and vibrational stability — Far superior to metal construction
    • Glass scales in all linear axes for sub-micron precision
    • CNC controlled to eliminate operator variability
    • Three fixed CCD cameras measure every detail from three angles without rotating or swivelling - Higher stability and accuracy
    • Top light and front light with 100x magnification; Back light 50x (100x optional)
  • Wheel & final tool inspection, spot checks and reverse engineering in one machine
    • Complete wheel measuring includes exact grinding point
    • 50 taper spindle with adapters for nearly all tool and wheel holders – including wheel sets for non-WALTER machines
    • New Easy Check software for spot checks and set-up measurements in seconds
    • Prints inspection documentation to support DIN ISO 9000
  • Capacity: 12.6 in. in diameter and 16.5 in. long (320 x 420 mm)
  • Optimum tool diameter 3 to 320 mm
