Profile Update: Jim Ingham

In the past when you considered creep feed grinding as a manufacturing process, you needed high part volumes, values, tough materials, and qualities to justify the high investment.  Although the process offered many benefits, quite often the cost justifications could not be met.  Today things are different, "variety is the spice of our product range".  We are no longer bound to the 100 HP spindle drives, machines and coolant handling systems that occupied massive floor space, and investment levels to match.  We have productive solutions that are focused on meeting the part specific demand.  Sure, those big workhorses are being supplied, but where needed and justified.  Our goal is to match the correct machine size, features, and technology to the total project or application requirement.

One of the most interesting parts of being a Regional Sales Manager is the unique opportunity to meet many people and companies.  Just as every person is different, We see companies using different methods to solve manufacturing challenges.  We also get to see a broad range of work parts being produced, which are very different...big, small, hard, soft, various materials, quality levels, values, and volumes.  In this case, "variety is the spice of the RSM life!"
